This is a blog post that discusses the evidence of three different videos that show Prova Rajib, a suspect in the July 2017 killings of Zainab Ansari and her five year-old brother Umar, who has allegedly confessed to committing these crimes. I will be addressing the following questions in this blog post: Is the suspect in these videos “Prova Rajib” (aka “Pappu Rajib”) ? Why is he referred to as Pappu Rajib by many people on social media? Where are these videos from? What is shown in these videos? Where did these videos come from? What is the authenticity of these videos? Where was Prova Rajib arrested and under what circumstances? How can we verify if this was indeed Prova Rajib who was arrested and what evidence has been presented against him so far? Where were Zainab Ansari and Umar found, and who found them? Is it possible that the perpetrator. of this crime could still be at large, and is there any evidence supporting this theory? Is the suspect in these videos “Prova Rajib” (aka “Pappu Rajib”)? The videos that surfaced of the alleged perpetrator of Zainab Ansari’s murder show the person leading police to where Zainab was found, and also show him conversing with police officers. Initially the man was identified as Prova Rajib, however this identification has been disputed by several people on social media. There is no single video or post of Prova Rajib where his face is clearly visible, but there are several images (some close ups) of his face on social media. They are mostly selfies, but also include pictures of him with his family members. It is likely that he would still be identifiable based on these images, but to my knowledge there has not been one clear video of him. The reason why Prova Rajib was originally identified as the suspect in this case was due to an image that appeared on Facebook. The image showed a man, wearing a red jacket (identified as Pappu Rajib by some people on social media), while standing near Zainab’s house with the caption “The boy who did it” underneath. It was reported that this incident occurred on July 26th, 2017. The wording of the caption was changed to “This boy” after news outlets widely reported Pappu Rajib as the suspect. This suggests that the person who initially shared the image may have known exactly who they were identifying when they posted it, but was unable to post his name due to fear of reprisal by whoever he thought killed Zainab and her brother. According to this report, Pappu Rajib is originally from Bahawalpur in Punjab, Pakistan. He has two wives and 3 children (according to his facebook page).
